Ask and Ye Shall Receive

How many of you have without thinking about it, said a little prayer prior to making a decision?  We do not need to do it when deciding what to have for lunch, but you may want to ask whether or not we take the red pill or the blue pill (Matrix Fans).

Mady and I recently read in her bible stories, Joshua 9 regarding the Gibeonites deceiving the Israelites.  Joshua was deceived by the Gibeonites into making a treaty with them to prevent being attacked.  Joshua, based on face value, agreed to the treaty without consulting the Lord.  Joshua did not need to head up to a mountain and spend a week fasting for an answer, not that it would not hurt.  He just needed to ask the Lord for guidance.

Matthew 7:7-8 ~ “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened”

I know the Lord has a plan for us and I do not believe you or I would be able to figure out that plan on our own without asking.  Many decisions we make are based on educated guesses and decisions based on hunches or past experiences without consulting the Lord.  If we take the time to pray and ask the Lord for guidance, he will most often give you the answers you need to make the right decisions.
